DIAGNOSIS AND ASSESSMENT in the clinic, face to face - FROM £ 2,100
Parents wishing to access a diagnostic assessment are requested to fill in screen questionnaires that we provide and can be done electronically. After scoring and interpreting these questionnaires we will indicate what is the most appropriate clinic to attend. We provide: a full multidisciplinary diagnostic assessment that includes an in-depth interview with the parent (s) using the Autism Diagnostic Interview -Revised (ADI-R), and an assessment of the person presenting with difficulties using the Autism Diagnostic Observation Schedule (ADOS-2).
Following this initial appointment - which takes about 2.5 to 3.5 hours (it involves two clinicians working simultaneously with parent and the person requiring the assessment) - a combined report detailing the information obtained from the interview and assessment is produced. This also includes recommendations regarding further requirements (such as further assessments of cognition / language/ executive functioning / theory of mind, school visit / liaison, referral to other professionals, etc.) and suggestions for the implementation of appropriate management strategies. We pride ourselves on the expedient delivery of reports (usually 1 and half week after the full assessment).
An Initial Brief Assessment is also available; it involves a meeting with the parents / partner to evaluate the information offered in the various screen questionnaires already filled in prior to the meeting. The initial conversation is one hour long with a specialist neurodevelopmental clinician and is priced at £300.
